Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Ahmet Savaşan, participated in the Tourism Fair organized in Antalya.

According to the statement made by the Council, Savaşan explained the health and other alternative tourism advantages of Northern Cyprus.

In his presentation Coronavirus Pointing out that the pandemic is a result of global time and space compression, Savaşan emphasized that the pandemic has deeply affected the economic, political, social, cultural, touristic and all other activities of the world.

Savaşan stated that during the pandemic, Turkey was one of the countries that managed the pandemic the best in terms of the number of cases, recoveries, deaths and treatment facilities among developed countries and rival countries in terms of tourism in the Mediterranean basin, and TRNC was the other.

Savaşan said, “This success of our countries, which resonates in the international arena, has increased the confidence in both Turkey and Northern Cyprus.”.

Stating that the Cyprus Health Tourism Council has increased its efforts for the TRNC to get more share from the health tourism market, which is estimated to reach a volume of 143 billion dollars by 2025, Savaşan said that the council has also increased its digital promotion marketing activities for 2023 by developing new products with the support of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the cooperation of sector representatives.

Pointing out that health tourism does not only consist of medical services offered in hospitals and clinics, Savaşan pointed out that the SPA and wellness area is also developing.

“With the contribution of both the rapidly changing holiday understanding in the world and the success we have achieved in protecting the health of our people during the pandemic process, by combining health and tourism services; Thanks to the packages we offer for medical, elderly and disabled people, as well as the special SPA and Welness products we offer in our hotels, our country Northern Cyprus is preferred more and more by qualified tourists every day. Our short-term target is 10 thousand health tourists and 100 million USD revenue. When we look at the first six months of 2022, it shows that the number of health tourists coming to our country will meet the target we set.’
